UConn at Duke Most-Viewed Women's Regular Season Game Ever on ESPN or ESPN2

BRISTOL, CT - ESPN2's coverage of the women's college basketball game pitting No. 2 Connecticut at No. 1 Duke Saturday, February 1, averaged 1,226,000 household impressions and a 1.45 rating, making it the most-viewed regular season women's basketball game ever on ESPN or ESPN2 and the highest rated in 20 years (since ESPN's telecast of Tennessee vs. Louisiana Tech December 14, 1982, generated a 1.7 rating).  In addition, the telecast was ESPN2's third most-watched college basketball game, including post season and men's action.

The showdown was the network's highest-rated women's game in its near-ten-year history, surpassing the 0.96 average rating (731,000 households) for the telecast of Connecticut at Notre Dame March 6, 2001.

ESPn2's top two most-viewed college basketbll games involved men's basketbll games between Duke and North Carolina.  Duke at North Carolina on February 5, 1998, averaged 1,584,000 households (2.88 rating) and North Carolina at Duke February 1, 2001 averaged 1,248,000 households (1.67 rating).
