UConn Meets NCAA's APR Standard In All 24 Sports

STORRS, Conn. (May 6, 2008) - The University of Connecticut meets the standards in all 24 of its sports programs in the latest NCAA Academic Progress Rate (APR) report which was released on Tuesday afternoon. The report is based upon a compilation of data from the 2003-04, 2004-05, 2005-06 and 2006-07 academic years. The APR is intended as a four-year rate of measure, aggregating four years of data to produce one rate. This year marks the first time that the release of figures included a full four-year sample.

Hathaway A Finalist For Sports Business Award

STORRS, Conn. (May 1, 2008) - University of Connecticut Director of Athletics Jeffrey Hathaway is one of four finalists for an inaugural Sports Business Award by Street and Smith’s Sports Business Journal. Hathaway was nominated in the category of “Athletic Director of the Year” and there are a total of 11 different categories such as sports executive, sport event marketing firm and professional sports team.

STORRS, Conn. (April 25, 2008) - The University of Connecticut has been re-certified by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), affirmation that the institution operates its athletics program in conformity with the operating principles adopted by the Division I membership.
