UConn Spends It's Second Day in San Antonio with Work and Some Play

SAN ANTONIO, TX (April 1) – The Connecticut men’s basketball team spent its first full day in Texas with work and some play. The Huskies started the day with a two-hour practice and then spent the afternoon on a boat ride on the famous Riverwalk in San Antonio and took the rest of the afternoon to take in the area’s sites.

The team capped the night off the annual NCAA Salute Presentation at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. The evening, which was emceed by CBS’ Jim Nantz, was a salute to the 2004 Final Four coaches and the accomplishments of the teams. The night also marked the 25th anniversary of the NCAA Division Championship game match-up between Indiana State and Michigan State in 1979, which pitted Larry Bird and Irvin ‘Magic’ Johnson against each other. Head Coaches of the teams Jud Heathcote and Bill Hodges were in attendance for the Salute Presentation.
