UConn Women's Basketball Announces BIG EAST Opponents For 2004-05
STORRS, Conn. (July 15, 2004) — The three-time defending
national champion University of Connecticut women's basketball team
will play a 16-game BIG EAST Conference schedule in 2004-05
highlighted by two meetings each (home & away) with Boston College,
Notre Dame, Rutgers, Providence and Pittsburgh.
The Huskies will host Seton Hall, Villanova and Syracuse in their only
regular-season meeting with those schools next season while they will
travel to face Georgetown, St. John’s and West Virginia.
Connecticut captured the BIG EAST Regular Season Title for the 11th
consecutive season in 2003-04 and boasts an all-time mark of 273-78
(.778) vs. league foes. In addition, the Huskies own a winning record
against each of the conference’s current members.
The Huskies will return three starters and eight letterwinners from
last season’s squad which finished 31-4 and captured the program’s
fifth national championship.
Dates and times of all conference games will be released at a
later date.
