Football Ranked 25th In BCS Standings

STORRS, Connecticut (October 26, 2008) – The University of Connecticut football team is ranked No. 25 in this week’s edition of the Bowl Championship Series standings – the second of the season. The Huskies are 6-2 on the season and 2-1 in the BIG EAST after their 40-16 win over Cincinnati on Saturday.
The Harris Interactive Poll, USA Today Coaches Poll and computer rankings each comprise one-third of the BCS Standings. The six computer ranking providers are Anderson & Hester, Richard Billingsley, Colley Matrix, Kenneth Massey, Jeff Sagarin and Peter Wolfe. Each computer ranking provider accounts for schedule strength within its formula.
UConn returns to action on Saturday when it plays host to West Virginia at noon at Rentschler Field. The game is sold out and will be televised by the BIG EAST Network and be seen locally on MyTV9.
