UConn Set for Valentine Invite at BU

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut track & field teams prepare for the Valentine Invite on Friday, Feb. 10 and Saturday, Feb. 11. Â
The two-day meet event will be hosted by Boston University at the Track and Tennis Center in Boston. Â
Last time out, UConn had a lot of results to be proud of. On the men's side, there were four first place finishes including Terrel Williams who set the UConn all-time program record in the Indoor 60-meter hurdles finishing with a 7.71 time. Also, Travis Snyder continued to put up top marks finishing first in both meets last weekend in the Indoor Pole Vault. Â
For the women, there were two top marks at the Harvard Crimson Elite and the Scarlett & White Invitational. Patricia Mroczkowski finished first in the Indoor High Jump with a 1.70m result. Then, on Saturday Rachel Mason finished first in the Indoor Pole Vault with the eighth all-time best mark in UConn program history jumping 3.65m.Â
The Valentine Invite coming up this weekend is the last regular season meet for UConn before the Big East Indoor Championships from Friday, Feb. 24 to Saturday, Feb. 25. Â
"This team is sharpening up really well and competing really well," Track & Field Director Beth Alford-Sullivan said. "For my first time here at UConn, I have just been impressed. I have asked them for a strong showing and competitive spirit and we are certainly seeing that."Â
