Husky Swimmers Fall to Rutgers

The Huskies placed five mens swimmers in the top spots of their events. Barry Hoey (Valrico, FL) earned two first place finishes on the evening. He swam the 500 Freestyle in a time of 4:42.94 and the 1000 Freestyle in a time of 9:38.92. Dustin Rogers (West Allis, WI) placed first in the 200 Individual Medley in a time of 1:57.62, while Ofri Brener (Haifa, Israel) had a top time of 1:59.16 in the 100 Breaststroke. David Cohen (Bethany, CT) swam to a first place finish in the 200 Butterfly, ending in a time of 1:54.52.
Kate Larson (Sayville, NY) earned the only two first place finishes for the Husky swimmers. Larson topped the 100 Breaststroke event in a time of 1:05.56. She also finished first in the 200 Breaststroke event, finishing in a time of 2:20.87. Diver Melissa Kull (Poughkeepsie, NY) had a first place finish in the one-meter diving event earning a score of 246.67.
The Connecticut men and women next travel to the Nike Cup in Chapel Hill, NC on November 16-18. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill host the event.
