ASSISTANT WOMEN’S FIELD HOCKEY COACH (Specialist 1A)

JOB SUMMARY
The University of Connecticut Division of Athletics is accepting applications for the full-time position of Assistant Women’s Field Hockey Coach (Specialist 1A).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assisting the Head Women’s Field Hockey Coach in planning and organizing all phases of a Division I women’s field hockey program including recruitment and evaluation of prospective student-athletes; development of the student-athlete; game preparation; marketing and community involvement; and other administrative duties as assigned by the Head Women’s Field Hockey Coach.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree; three or more years of coaching experience with at least one at the Division I collegiate level, or equivalent international coaching experience; demonstrated working experience or understanding of NCAA regulations; strong commitment to the academic goals of the University; and excellent organizational, communication, and public relations skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
NCAA Tournament coaching experience; Experience working with nationally ranked or nationally recruited athletes.

FOOTBALL CREATIVE DIRECTOR (Specialist 1A)

The University of Connecticut Division of Athletics is seeking applications for the position of Football Creative Director.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee, in collaboration with coaching staff, the overall ideation, creative direction and production of digital content and media across multiple mediums, with a focus on @UConnFootball social media platforms; educate and coach football student-athletes on the effective use of social media and how to grow their social media platforms and brand; participate in team meetings to assist in the holistic development of the student-athletes and to enhance their overall academic and athletic experiences; responsible for creating content for recruiting including graphic creation, official visit photoshoots, and video content; serve as the primary creator for all internal creative content including team hype videos, recruiting presentations, designing for print materials and more at the direction of the Head Coach; manage and develop a staff of student creative interns; oversight of the recruiting strategies on the football social media accounts; serve as a content creator, with the ability to successfully manage a unit as well as lead the collaborative efforts of promoting the football team, in conjunction with multiple departments including Video Services, Marketing and Communications; forward-thinking, with the ability to lead and assist in developing and executing strategic content strategies and creative campaigns; other duties as assigned by the Head Coach, the Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Strategy, and the Assistant Athletic Director for Creative Services and Strategy.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization such as graphic design, marketing, journalism, communications or another applicable area of study.
- Two years of related experience, including at least one year of producing and managing multimedia content for digital platforms, with a focus on recruiting, and two years of experience in social media strategy and execution.
- Previous experience in a creative design, and/or digital media capacity for a college or professional sports team.
- Demonstrated experience in graphic design, photography and photography editing.
- Proficient experience in videography capture and editing.
- Proficient experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Two to four years of experience at an NCAA Division I institution.
- Prior leadership experience of direct oversight or management of a creative team and student interns.
- Proficiency in animation/motion graphics such as Adobe After Effects.
- Experience with web design including HTML and CSS.
- Two years of experience in the area of on-campus recruiting at an NCAA Division I institution.

Assistant Football Equipment Manager - Athletics [P3]

The University of Connecticut is seeking applications for the full-time position of Assistant Football Equipment Manager. The applicant’s responsibilities are specific to the equipment area within the Football program and related facilities. This position will report to the Head Football Equipment Manager and take directions from the Head Football Coach.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in leadership and oversight, including supervision of student employees and contracted vendors
- Issue, collect, repair, and maintain practice and game equipment and apparel.
- Support in the preparation, packing, transportation, and set up of equipment for practices, competitions, and team travel.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records, including equipment tracking, distribution logs, and the lifecycle of equipment.
- Inspect equipment regularly to ensure proper fit, functionality, and compliance with safety standards.
- Perform minor equipment repairs and coordinate major repairs or reconditioning with approved vendors.
- Assist with ordering equipment and apparel in collaboration with the Head Football Equipment Manager and approved vendors.
- Maintain accurate inventories utilizing cloud-based inventory system.
- Ensure compliance with NCAA and FBS regulations related to equipment, branding, and trademarks.
- Oversee Football related shipping and receiving operations and coordinate facility maintenance needs.
- Participate in professional development to remain current on industry trends and compliance requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Football program and athletic department.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 2 years of experience working in a football equipment room (student, intern, GA or assistant level).
- Athletic Equipment Manager’s Association (AEMA) certification or the ability to become certified within one year of appointment.
- Working knowledge of football equipment operations.
- Working knowledge of OSHA standards, including blood-borne pathogens protocols.
- Demonstrated ability to manage assigned responsibilities with a high level of organization, accountability, and attention to details.
- Basic proficiency with computer applications and technology used in equipment operations.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 or more years of experience in a football equipment room.
- Experience at the FBS level or within a similarly structured, high-demand football program.
- Experience serving as a graduate assistant, intern or full-time assistant in a college football equipment room.
- Demonstrated leadership experience supervising or mentoring student managers.
- Experience with travel logistics and equipment and apparel preparation for competition and team travel.
- Experience working with Nike as the primary apparel and equipment vendor.
- Experience working with the Coach Comm communication system.
APPOINTMENT TERMS
This is a full-time, permanent position. Relocation assistance is not available. The incumbent must have the ability to work flexible and irregular hours, including weekends and holidays.
