Abrosimova Nominated For Honda Award

Abrosimova, UConn’s first-ever three-time Kodak All-American, was UConn’s leading scorer with a 14.1/game average before sustaining a season- ending injury (torn ligament in left foot). In addition to leading the Huskies in scoring, the forward from St. Petersburg, Russia was No. 1 on the team in steals (54) and second on the team in both assists (4.1/game) and rebounding (6.5/game). The 6-2 Abrosimova concluded her four-year UConn career ranked No. 5 in career scoring with 1,865 points, carrying a career scoring average of 14.7/game. She is No. 3 at UConn in career steals.
Connecticut senior guard Shea Ralph was the 1999-2000 recipient of the Honda Award for Women’s Basketball.
