Men's Tennis Goes Down at Georgetown, 7-0

WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 18) -- The University of Connecticut men’s tennis team lost all nine of its matches on Saturday afternoon in a 7-0 loss to Georgetown in Washington, D.C. UConn dips to 2-7 on the spring with the loss while the Hoyas up their mark to 1-5.
Georgetown opened play by sweeping the three doubles matches to earn the match's opening point. UConn's closest match was at No. 3 where Joey Michaels and Christian Malerba picked up four games in an 8-4 loss to Andrew Clayton and Kenneth Wong. In singles, the Hoyas won all six matches in straight sets. Freshman Ben Scheuler was UConn's toughest out, falling by a tight 6-4, 7-5 at No. 5 to Bert Baggio.
The Huskies return to action on Tuesday when they play host to Quinnipiac at 2:00 p.m.
