Joey Michaels Honored For Perfect 4.0 GPA

STORRS, Conn. (February 15, 2007) - The University of Connecticut women's tennis team was recently honored at halftime of the UConn vs. Louisville women's basketball for having the highest grade point average with a 3.3 among all UConn sports team for the 2006 spring/fall semesters.
"To have my women's team achieve the highest gpa of all Husky athletic teams is truly a great accomplishment and honor," head coach Glenn Marshall said.
Members of the men's team were honored as well with six earning a 3.0 or better. Sophomore Joey Michaels (Rochester Hills, Mich.) attained a 4.0 for his second straight semester while majoring in marketing.
"It is outstanding that we had 17 out of 24 tennis players achieve a 3.0 gpa or better this past semester," Marshall said. "I am extremely proud of all our student-athletes commitment to academics."
