I Love A Parade

HARTFORD, Conn. - An estimated crowd of 25,000 adoring fans lined the streets of downtown Hartford on Sunday afternoon for a victory parade and rally for the 2009 UConn women's basketball national championship team.
The UConn parade planning committee was coordinated by Governor M. Jodi Rell's office, the Hartford Business Improvement District and the MetroHartford Alliance.
The committee consisted of representatives from the Office of the Governor, State of Connecticut, City of Hartford, University of Connecticut, Hartford Hospitality Task Force and civic organizations and businesses from throughout the Greater Hartford region.
The parade was being made possible through generous donations from the City of Hartford, State of Connecticut and a variety of civic organizations and area businesses.
