Murray Holds Strong In BIG EAST Rankings
For the second straight week Rebecca Murray leads the BIG EAST with 0.56 service aces per set. Murray has been ranked in the top three for the entire season, leading the conference for four weeks. Murray posted three service aces over the weekend and has now recorded an ace in all but one match this year (SIU 9/4). Murray also ranks ninth nationally, one of just five BIG EAST players to be ranked in the top-50.
Roidt Breaks Into BIG EAST Top-10
After tallying 74 assists this weekend Angela Roidt finally broke into the BIG EAST top-10, ranking ninth in assists per set with 9.41. Roidt posted a match-high 48 assists against New Hampshire (9/24), her second 40+ assist match of the season.
Lucky 13
Morgan Freeman recorded her first double-digit kill match of her Husky career against New Hampshire (9/24), smashing her old career-high (9) with a 13 kill performance. Freeman has been a consistent offensive threat for UConn this season, posting at least five kills in eight matches and ranks third on the squad with 66 total kills.
...And Ranks Second In Blocks
Morgan Freeman has also been a strong defensive presence for the Huskies, posting 31 blocks, five solo and 26 block assists this season. Freeman ranks second on the team in the category, behind Allison Nickel who has recorded 32 blocks on the year. The pair has recorded at least one block in every match this season, with 14 coming against Brown (9/4) and 10 versus Duquesne (9/18).

...And Steady In BIG EAST Rankings
For the fourth consecutive week Kelsey Maving is in the top-two in digs per set, recording 213 digs this season, for a 5.20 average. Maving is behind Villanova's Kim Maroon (5.65). Maving and Maroon are tied for the lead in conference matches only, each posting 7.00 digs per set after the first weekend of BIG EAST play.
Murray 1,000 Kill Countdown
Rebecca Murray needs just 33 more kills to reach the 1,000 kill mark for her career. So far this season she is averaging 2.49 kills per set, the highest on the team, and had a season-high 15 kills at Colgate (9/18). Murray is just one of three current Huskies to have 500 or more kills in their careers, joining Lauren Lamberti (565) and Jordan Kirk (647).
UConn In October
The Huskies boast a 25-19 overall record during the month of October under head coach Holly Strauss-O'Brien's guidance, including a 13-7 mark in Gampel Pavilion. Over the past five years UConn has only played Cincinnati once during the month of October (2007), and they have played Louisville twice, during 2007 and 2006.
Murray In The Record Books

Murray has led UConn the previous three seasons in the category, with 98 blocks as a freshman, 113 as a sophomore and 115 as a junior. She is 42 blocks shy of taking over fourth place, which is currently held by Jenelle Koester (1995-98) who had 381 career blocks.
