Huskies Slam TDT Slammers in Florence

FLORENCE - Freshman Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis scored 18 points to lead five players in double-figures as the University of Connecticut women's basketball team defeated the outmatched TDT Slammers of Germany by a 112-36 count on Monday evening in the penultimate contest of the team's four-game tour through Italy.
UConn played against TDT due to a last-minute scheduling change. Mosqueda-Lewis' 18 came on 7-of-12 from the floor and she buried four of her seven attempts from beyond the 3-point arc. The Anaheim, Calif. Native also snared six rebounds and posted five steals.
Senior guard Tiffany Hayes scored 17 points on 7-of-13 shooting and was one rebound shy of a double-double in only 25-minutes of action. Sophomore guard Bria Hartley added 16 points, nine assists, seven rebounds and five steals in an outstanding all-around effort.
Brianna Banks and Heather Buck each chipped in with 11 points.
The Huskies are back in action on Wednesday, August 24 when the team squares-off against the Nigerian National Team in Como, Italy.
