STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut volleyball team's Blue vs. White scrimmage that was scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. start Monday (August 22) has been moved back to a 4:00 p.m. start. The scrimmage will still be held in Gampel Pavilion and will be open to the public.

Connecticut returns eight letterwinners from last season's squad, including seniors Jordan Kirk (Plano, Texas) and Allison Nickel (Pittsford, N.Y.). UConn's returners will be joined by six incoming freshmen, as Karson Ratliff (OH/Wake Forest, N.C.), Devon Maugle (OH/Plymouth Meeting, Pa.), Amy Christensen (DS/Ashburn, Va.), Brianna Datti (DS/Durham, N.H.), Sage Esposito (DS/Milford, Conn.) and Katie Robinson (S/Los Altos, Calif.) will join the Husky lineup.
The 2011 BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll was released earlier this week with Louisville, the 2010 BIG EAST Tournament Champion, leading the way with 11 first place votes. The Huskies will open the 2011 regular season Friday, August 26 in Fort Worth, Texas when they participate in the TCU Tournament, facing Grambling State, Texas Tech and the host Horned Frogs. Fans will be able to follow the Huskies during their first weekend of action via gametracker, while the UConn vs. TCU match on Saturday, August 27 will also be streamed live on the web.
