No. 4 UConn Set For Pitt On Tuesday

STORRS, Conn.- University of Connecticut women's basketball travels to Pennsylvania on Tuesday, Feb. 21, to take on BIG EAST opponent Pittsburgh at the Petersen Events Center. The No. 4 Huskies (24-3, 11-2 BIG EAST) are coming off a heartbreaking 57-56 loss against St. John's on Saturday. The last time that UConn was not ranked in the top-three was the first week of the 2007-08 season.
The Huskies are 39-9 all-time against Pittsburgh after losing the first seven meetings between the two sides. The Huskies have won 6 in-arow against Pitt and 39 of the past 41.
Connecticut has four players averaging double digits with senior Tiffany Hayes leading the pack with 15.6 points per game, while she adds 5.8 grabs per game which is second on the Huskies. Along with Hayes, sophomore Bria Hartley (14.3 ppg), freshman Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis (13.8 ppg) and sophomore Stefanie Dolson (10 ppg) are averaging double figures.
Pittsburgh (8-18, 0-13 BIG EAST) is 6-9 at home and is yet to defeat a conference foe on their home court in the 2011-12 campaign. The Panthers are led by Brianna Kiesel who is averaging 13.2 points and 3.4 boards a game and Ashlee Anderson with 11.2 points and 5.2 rebounds a game.
The contest will be televised by CPTV with Bob Picozzi (play-by-play) and Meghan Culmo (color) on the call and broadcasted lived on the UConn Radio Network.
