CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The top-ranked University of Connecticut women's basketball team is hitting the road to face Chattanooga on Monday, Nov. 30. Action is set to begin in McKenzie Arena at 6:30 p.m. The game will be televised on SNY and streamed live on ESPN3. Fans can also listen to radio coverage on the UConn/IMG Sports Radio Network.
UConn (3-0) cruised to a 42-point victory over Nebraska on Saturday afternoon, led by a game-high 25 points and 10 rebounds from senior Breanna Stewart (North Syracuse, N.Y.). The Huskies held the Huskers to 34.5 percent shooting from the field and outscored the visitors 46-to-20 in the paint. Freshmen Katie Lou Samuelson (Huntington Beach, Calif.) and Napheesa Collier (O'Fallon, Missouri) each had career outings with 14 and 10 points, respectively. The duo had 24 of UConn's 40 bench points.
Dating back to last season, the Huskies are currently on a 40-game winning streak, the fourth longest in UConn history.
Monday's outing will be the first time the two teams have met. UConn head coach Geno Auriemma began his career as an assistant to Chattanooga head coach Jim Foster when the pair were together at St. Joseph's (Pa.) during the 1978-79 season.
The Mocs have started the 2015-16 season with a 5-2 record. UTC is coming off a 61-46 win over UT Martin on Saturday night behind 31 points, 15 boards and seven blocked shots from Jasmine Joyner.
Since the 1993-94 season, the Huskies boast an incredible 541-9 (.984) record against unranked foes, including a current stretch of 262 wins in 263 such contests.
Approaching its final game of November, Connecticut has now been perfect in 17 of its last 19 Novembers and has won 62 of its last 63 games in the penultimate month. When the Huskies take the court on Monday, it will have been a full year since they suffered their last loss on Nov. 30, 2014 to Stanford.
