CHICAGO - After two games in three days, the No. 1 University of Connecticut women's basketball team will visit the Windy City to play No. 23 DePaul on Wednesday, Dec. 2 at the McGrath-Phillips Arena. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. ET and can be seen on FS1 with radio coverage on 96.5 FM.
Starting off the 2015-16 season undefeated (4-0), UConn had four players finish in double figures in its 79-31 win over Chattanooga on Monday night at McKenzie Arena. Senior Moriah Jefferson (Glenn Heights, Texas) tallied 15 points on perfect 5-5 shooting from the field and 4-4 on free throws. Classmate Breanna Stewart (North Syracuse, N.Y.) notched 14 points while redshirt-junior Morgan Tuck (Bolingbrook, Ill.) had 10 points. Sophomore Gabby Williams (Sparks, Nev.) posted her third double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
With four steals on the night, Jefferson brought her career total to 268, passing Renee Montgomery to stand seventh on UConn's all-time list.
Stewart also became the fifth Husky all-time to reach 300 career blocks after four rejections against the Mocs. She was named the American Athletic Conference's Player of the Week for the second-straight time with two 25-point performances in UConn's 2-0 week.
The Huskies and Blue Demons have met on the hardwood 13 times with Connecticut holding a 12-1 edge. The two teams last played on Dec. 19, 2014 in a game that ended with a 98-64 Husky victory. UConn dropped the first contest in the series back in 1983 but have rattled off 12-straight wins since and is 4-0 at DePaul.
The Blue Demons are currently 5-1 on the season after defeating Colgate, 96-46, on Nov. 27. Senior Megan Podkowa is averaging a team-best 15.8 points to go along with 7.8 rebounds.
Connecticut has been successful during the calendar's final month, tallying a 191-56 (.773) record. UConn has won 116 of its last 121 games played in December, dating back to the 1993-94 season.
The Huskies will have another quick turnaround following Wednesday's game as the team will prepare to battle No. 3 Notre Dame on Saturday, Dec. 5 at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs.
