De'Janae Boykin Leaves UConn Women's Basketball Team

STORRS, Conn. - Freshman forward De'Janae Boykin has decided to transfer from the University of Connecticut women's basketball program, as announced by head coach Geno Auriemma on Tuesday.
"Recently De'Janae expressed her desire to be closer to home," Auriemma said. "She is a great kid and I am glad I was able to get to know De'Janae and her family. The entire coaching staff and team wish her nothing but the best in the future."
Boykin will complete her final exams this week prior to finalizing her transfer.
The Springdale, Md. native was yet to appear in a game due to an achilles injury.
