A year ago, the Huskies claimed second at the inaugural American Athletic Conference championship, finishing with 114 points. Emily Durgin was named the Most Outstanding Track Performer after winning the 5,000 meter run, the 3,000 meter run and anchoring UConn's DMR squad to a first place finish on Day One.
Connecticut was last in action on Feb. 13 at the Valentine Invitational in Boston in an unscored meet. Odrine Belot delivered the afternoon's most impressive performance, notching a new career-best in the triple jump (13.03m) and moving into eighth on the NCAA Division I Qualifying List. The result also stands at No. 1 in the American Athletic Conference.
UConn checked in at the No. 2 team in the Northeast in the weekly USTFCCCA regional rankings. The meet will also represent the Huskies' third trip to The Armory this season after competing at the NYC Gotham Cup (Jan. 16) and the New Balance Collegiate Invitational (Jan. 31).
"We're looking forward to the meet," said head coach J.J. Clark. "We've learned a lot about our team throughout the season and now we have a chance to compete for a championship."
