UConn Ends Road Trip at Memphis on Wednesday

MEMPHIS, Tenn. ââ'¬" After earning its 51st consecutive victory on Sunday, the No. 1 University of Connecticut women's basketball team wraps up its three-game road trip with a showdown against Memphis on Wednesday, Jan. 13 at Roane Fieldhouse. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. on SNY with radio coverage on the UConn/IMG Radio Network.
Redshirt-junior Morgan Tuck (Bolingbrook, Ill.) grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds and dropped 22 points as UConn (14-0, 4-0 The American) topped No. 22/18 USF, 75-59, on Sunday. Senior Breanna Stewart (North Syracuse, N.Y.) finished with a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards while sophomore Kia Nurse (Hamilton, Ontario) tied her season-best with 16 points.
The Huskies have swept all four meetings with the Tigers by an average margin of victory of 46 points since joining the American Athletic Conference in 2013. This season, Memphis owns a 9-7 overall record and are 3-2 in conference play. The Tigers are once again led by senior Ariel Hearn, who stands 10th in the league with 14.1 points per game. As a team, Memphis averages 65.4 points per outing and is shooting 41.8 percent from the floor.
UConn is 354-15 (.959) all-time when playing as the nation's No. 1 ranked team in the Associated Press Top 25. Connecticut has won its last 91 games versus unranked opponents, dating back to a 57-56 loss vs. St. John's on Feb. 18, 2012. Since the 1993-94 season, the Huskies boast an incredible 547-9 (.984) record against unranked foes, including a current stretch of 268 wins in 269 such contests.
