Four Huskies Reach Finals

BLACKSBURG, Va. - Day two of competition ended Tuesday at the NCAA Zone A Championships and the Huskies placed four of their six divers in the finals of their respective events.
A day after securing a spot in the NCAA Championships in the three-meter dive, Alli Butera placed in seventh place in the one-meter dive with a score of 552.80. Butera needed to place fifth in order to qualify.
Monica Marcello and Amanda Craig both reached the one-meter finals, ranking 11th and 12th overall. Marcello totaled a score of 511.90 and Craig accumulated a 508.70. The Huskies were the only team to place three divers in the top 15 of the competition.
Junior Dan Kinney had a bounce back day in the three-meter dive. A day after missing the finals in the one-meter, Kinney scored a 603.1 to claim 18th place in the one-meter final.
The NCAA Zone A Championships conclude on Wednesday with the platform event on both the men's and women's side.
