UConn Takes on ECU at AAC Championship

STORRS, Conn. - The American Athletic Conference announced the seeding and schedule for this week's 2017 Championship tournament set to get underway Thursday morning at the USTA National Campus in Lake Nona, Fla. The UConn Huskies are seeded No.9 in the field and will face the No.8 seed East Carolina on Thursday morning at 9 am.
The winner of Thursday's match will move on to face the No.1 seeded USF on Friday morning. UConn and ECU faced-off earlier this spring with the Pirates posting a 7-0 win over the Huskies at home.
The tournament will conclude with Sunday's championship match which will be broadcast live on The American Digital Network. Fans can follow the tournament by visiting Championship Central at www.TheAmerican.org/Tennis.

UConn enters this year's tournament with a 9-11 dual match record and 0-2 in matches against AAC opponents. The Huskies come in off a 6-1 win over St. Francis Brooklyn on Saturday and have won four of their last seven matches.
Senior Arnaud Valentin (Ridgefield, Conn.) leads the Huskies into the postseason after posting a team-best 15-11 singles record this season. Sophomore Justin Warren (Durham, N.C.) posted 13 singles wins on the year and had a 9-8 doubles record with classmate Hank Hill (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.). Hill had an 11 win season in singles play
Seniors Parker Goldstein (Marietta, Ga.) and Christopher Toner (South Hamilton, Mass.) will make their fourth appearances at the AAC Championship. Goldstein posted nine wins in singles play this season. Sophomore Jack McLister (Leesburg, Va.) has had the hot hand of late, going 6-3 over his last nine matches.
