STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's basketball team currently has 17 players competing in the WNBA. Each week, we'll update you on our #ProHuskies including results, highlights and milestones.
Quick Hits
- 2018 First Round selections Gabby Williams (Chicago), Kia Nurse (New York) and Azurá Stevens (Dallas) made their WNBA debuts in the opening weekend. Williams earned a spot in the starting lineup in both of the Sky's first games.
- In a preseason survey of the league's general managers, 33 percent picked Maya Moore to win the 2018 WNBA MVP award.
- In the first game of the season, Diana Taurasi became the first-ever WNBA player to make 1,000 career 3-pointers.
- Five Huskies took the court when the Liberty and Sky faced off last Sunday. UConn alums combined for 59 points in the game.
- Fifteen Huskies suited up for the opening weekend of the WNBA season.
