Free Parking in North and South Garages.
STORRS, Conn. – UConn Athletics is deeply saddened by the recent passing of Virginia "Ginny" Bradford Rowe, a beloved ambassador of UConn Athletics for decades along with her husband, Dee Rowe.
Services will be held at Storrs Congregational Church on 2 North Eagleville Road on Wednesday, July 11 at 11 a.m. The reception will immediately follow the service at the Werth Family UConn Basketball Champions Center.
For guests planning to attend the service and/or reception, free parking is available in the North and South garages on campus from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. It is also available in T Lot off Route 195, which is adjacent to the Towers Residence Hall and a short walk to the church.
A shuttle service will be available for guests beginning at 10 a.m., as three buses that will first be staged at the North Garage stop (adjacent to Jorgensen Auditorium) will provide transportation from the garages to the church.
Following the services, the buses will be staged together on Glenbrook Road at approximately 12 p.m. to transport attendees either back to their respective parking garages or to the reception at the Werth Center.
At 1:45 p.m., a single shuttle bus will be placed on Jim Calhoun Way across from Werth to return those attending the reception back to North Garage. This service will run approximately every 15 minutes until 3:30 p.m.
There will be signage located at the various stops/pickup/drop points.
An AVS van will be in front of the South Garage to accommodate those who need accessible transport back to the North Garage following the memorial gathering. Those needing AVS service on the day of the event can make those arrangements by calling 860-486-4991.
In lieu of flowers, the Rowe family has requested that donations be made to the V Foundation (www.jimmyv.org), the UConn Dee Rowe Athletic Scholarship Fund (https://uconn.givecorps.com/causes/9134-the-dee-rowe-athletic-scholarship-fund) and the Worcester Academy Rowe Family Scholarship (www.worcesteracademy.org/rowe).
The Carlson Funeral Home, New Britain is assisting the family with arrangements. Please share a memory or note of sympathy with Ginny's family at www.carlsonfuneralhome.com.
