Baseball Fall Season Is Underway

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn baseball team opened the fall schedule with their first team meeting of the semester on Monday afternoon at J.O. Christian Field.
The Huskies welcomed their returning players back from summer ball and welcomed the UConn newcomers to the program.
The fall season will run from Aug. 28 until Friday Nov. 16 consisting of individual workouts, intrasquad scrimmages and strength and conditioning. The featured events for fall ball is the Pro Scout Day, the Alumni Game and new to the schedule this fall is two exhibition games for the Huskies at J.O. Christian Field.
The fall ramps up with the Huskies annual Pro Scout Day on Friday, Sept. 7. The UConn players will work out in front of MLB scouts before diving into the bulk of the fall schedule.
Sunday, Sept. 23 is the annual UConn Alumni game with the current players facing off against past Huskies that make a trip back to the old stomping grounds of J.O. Christian Field. For more information on the Alumni Game please CLICK HERE.
Brand new to the Division I fall schedule is the ability to play exhibition games during the fall without those games counting against the program's 56-game spring schedule. UConn faces Niagara County Community College on Friday, Sept. 28 and follow it up with a game against UConn - Avery Point on Saturday, Oct. 6.
More information on exhibition contests will be provided at a later date.
