Husky Trio Wins WNBA Championship

FAIRFAX, Va. – Former UConn women's basketball standouts Sue Bird, Breanna Stewart and Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis won the WNBA Championship Wednesday night with the Seattle Storm.
Stewart was selected as the WNBA Finals MVP and was named All-WNBA First Team after being named the regular season MVP and a 2018 WNBA All-Star.
Fifteen former Huskies have won a total of 27 WNBA Championships.
This is the first WNBA title for Stewart and Mosqueda-Lewis. Bird won her third WNBA Championship, all with Seattle (2004, '10, '18).
The Storm finished the regular season with the best record in the league (26-8) and the No. 1 overall seed in the WNBA Playoffs. Seattle went 6-2 in the playoffs, including a 3-0 sweep in the Finals.
During the Finals game, former Huskies Tiffany Hayes (Atlanta Dream), Stewart and Diana Taurasi (Phoenix Mercury) were named to the All-WNBA First Team. Maya Moore (Minnesota Lynx) was selected to the second team.
