WXC Places Sixth at Paul Short Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The UConn WXC finished sixth at the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University on Saturday.
Sophomore Jaclyn Gallery, who placed 11th overall with a time of 20:57, set UConn's pace as the top finishing Husky. While sophomore Mia Nahom recorded a Top-20 finish by placing 17th with a time of 21:08.
Sophomore Brianna O'Brien (22:11, 92nd) and Sarah Leatherwood (22:18, 109th), in addition to senior Talia Staiger (22:31, 143rd) and seniors Kelsey Swanson (22:32, 169th) and Courtney Akerley (22:42, 169th) all aided in solidifying UConn's top-six position.
UConn wrapped up the meet with a total of 372 points and an average time of 21:35. To check out full results from the meet CLICK HERE.
"We had a solid showing with our sixth place team finish," said head coach J.J. Clark. "Mia had an outstanding race with her 17th overall finish while Jaclyn opened her first collegiate cross country race in stellar fashion with a top-15 finish. We still have some conditioning and sharpening to do but are moving in the right direction."
The women's cross-country team will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 6 at the New England Championships in Boston, Mass.
