STORRS, Conn. - Graduate student running back Art Thomkins, freshman defensive lineman Eric Watts and freshman defensive lineman Jeff Woods have enrolled in classes for the 2019 spring semester, allowing all three to participate in spring practice from February 12-March 15.  Â
Redshirt junior linebacker Eli Thomas, who is recovering from a stroke that he suffered on October 10, has enrolled in classes for the spring 2019 semester. He has not been cleared for football activities but has rejoined his teammates in Storrs.  Â
Thompkins, who graduated from the University of Toledo in December ran for 1,427 yards and scored 11 touchdowns in 36 games over three years in Toledo. The Pittsburgh native averaged 6.2 yards/carry and also posted 34 receptions for 291 yards for the Rockets.
Watts led Sumter High School to County and Region Championships and also lettered in basketball during high school. Woods graduated from Trinity Christian High School in Fayetteville, N.C after recording 41 tackles, 7.0 sacks and three forced fumbles during his senior season. A member of the Dean's List, Woods was also an All-State basketball player.
