STORRS, Conn.—The University of Connecticut women's athletic programs are currently 22nd in the 2018-2019 Capital One Cup fall standings as announced by the Organization Thursday.
The Huskies earned eight points toward the Capital One Cup after their top-10 finish in field hockey.
The Capital One Cup is an NCAA athletics award honoring the top Division I men's and women's college athletic program in the country. With strong performances in the remaining winter and spring sports, Connecticut will have the opportunity to take home the Capital One Cup, which includes $200,000 in scholarship funds to their athletics department and chance to be honored on stage at The ESPYS in July.
Over the eight Capital One Cup seasons, $3.2 million has been donated to the scholarship funds of winning schools—half to men's and women's programs. To follow all the action with Capital One Cup College Sports, click here.
