Jordan Captures Rookie Of Week, Palacios, Eveillard Honor Roll

STORRS, Conn. - After winning a pair of games against Houston and SMU this weekend, the UConn women's soccer team was recognized for its achievements. Freshman Cara Jordan captured American Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week honors, while forward Yamilee Eveillard and goalkeeper Randi Palaciosย landed on the American Athletic Conference honor roll.
Jordan earns rookie recognition after scoring the game-winning goal vs. SMU on Sunday. It was her first career goal in a UConn uniform and secured the Huskies first back-to-back victories of the season.
Yamilee Eveillard helped lead the Huskies to a win in overtime against Houston with a game-tying goal in the second half and then sending the Huskies home victorious with a golden goal in the 94th minute.
Randi Palacios continues to make her case as one of the best goalkeepers in The American. The redshirt junior totaled 11 saves throughout the two games and logged her second shutout of the season against SMU.
The Huskies return to the field on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. at USF.ย
