UConn Three Named to Naismith Trophy Midseason Team

ATLANTA – UConn trio Katie Lou Samuelson, Napheesa Collier and Crystal Dangerfield were selected to the 30-player Women's Citizen Naismith Trophy Midseason Team Monday.
UConn is one of three teams with at least three nominees. On March 4, 2019, the competition will narrow as the midseason team of 30 becomes 10 national semifinalists. The four finalists will be announced on March 22, 2019, and the 2019 Citizen Naismith Trophy for Women's Player of the Year will be announced on April 6, 2019.
Last week, the three were named to the Wooden Award Late Season Top 20. The trio have led Connecticut to a 21-2 record in 2018-19. The three were named preseason First Team All-Conference as well as to every major award's preseason watch list. Collier leads the Huskies in points and rebounds while Samuelson is second in both categories. Dangerfield leads the team in assists.
UConn has featured 10 Citizen Naismith Trophy winners, the most of any program.
