Collier, Williams Sweep Conference Honors

STORRS, Conn. – Senior Napheesa Collier was tabbed Player of the Week while Christyn Williams picked up Freshman of the Week honors, as announced by the American Athletic Conference Monday.
In two wins last week, Collier averaged 24.5 points and 13.5 rebounds per game. In a 97-79 win over then-No. 11 South Carolina, she scored a season-high 31 points while adding 16 rebounds. Collier followed that up with 18 points and 11 rebounds vs. UCF Sunday.
Williams averaged 15.5 points per game last week. Against the Gamecocks, she scored 19 points on 7-for-8 shooting and added 12, all in the third quarter, vs. the Knights.
This is Collier's eighth time being named conference Player of the Week and the fourth time this season. This is Williams' second Freshman of the Week honor.
The Huskies are back in action Wednesday vs. Memphis at 7 p.m. in the team's final XL Center game of the season.
