Olson recognized a second time by the American Athletic Conference

STORRS, Conn.—Sophomore pitcher Marybeth Olson was honored for the second time this season by the American Athletic Conference. Olson earned a spot on the Weekly Honor Roll for her performance this past weekend at the Mercer Bears Classic in Macon, Ga.
As a team UConn emerged 4-1 after their games against Fordham, Cleveland State, Mercer, and a pair versus South Dakota. The Huskies were led by Olson in the circle for both games against the Coyotes from South Dakota. She appeared in relief in the other set of contests—Mercer and Cleveland State.
Olson (5-4 overall, 3-1 after the Mercer Bears Classic) tossed a pair of complete games against South Dakota, with the first match up ending after five innings and the rematch going the full seven innings. She also appeared in 2.2 innings against the Vikings of Cleveland State and 5.1 innings versus the Bears. For the weekend she pitched a total of 20 innings, only allowing a pair of runs, three walks, and 21 strikeouts.
UConn will travel to Daytona Beach, Fla. to take on Bethune-Cookman in a single game on Tuesday, Mar. 19th and will open conference play this weekend Mar. 22nd-24th at UCF in Orlando, Fla.
