UConn to Face Notre Dame in NCAA Final Four

TAMPA – The second-seeded UConn women's basketball team (35-2) takes on top-seeded Notre Dame (34-3) in the NCAA national semifinals Friday. The game is set to tip 30 minutes after the conclusion of Oregon-Baylor, at approximately 9:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2 and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield IMG College.
The Huskies advanced to their NCAA record 12th straight Final Four with an 80-73 win over Louisville in the Elite Eight last Sunday. Senior Katie Lou Samuelson led UConn with 29 points while senior Napheesa Collier had her 24th double-double of the season with 12 points and 13 rebounds.
This is UConn's 20th overall Final Four appearance. The Huskies hold a 121-19 record in the NCAA Tournament. UConn is 11-8 all-time in the national semifinals.
Earlier this week, Collier was named an AP and USBWA First Team All-American and a finalist for the Wooden Award. Samuelson was selected as an AP Third Team All-American and USBWA Second Team All-American.
UConn is 37-12 all-time vs. Notre Dame. The Huskies and Fighting Irish have faced each other in seven previous NCAA Final Fours, in which Notre Dame has a 4-3 advantage.
The Huskies and Irish played earlier this season, with UConn picking up an 89-71 win in South Bend.
