STORRS, Conn. - For the fifth-straight season, the UConn women's tennis program has been recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as an All-Academic team for achieving a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above for the 2018-19 season. In addition, six student-athletes garnered ITA Scholar-Athlete honors for achieving a grade point average of 3.50 or higher for the academic year.
"I am very proud of my teams recognition for this prestigious award from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association," stated Director of Tennis/Head Coach Glenn Marshall. "Being recognized as an ITA All-Academic Team is an honor, and it shows their commitment to academics. The players do an excellent job balancing their academics and athletics, and they continue to make the University, athletic department, and their coach very proud with this award."
Recent graduates Jacquelyn Fitz-Randolph (Tampa, Fla.) and Gillian Perrotta (Scarsdale, N.Y.) closed out their UConn careers by earning a spot on this year's team. Perrotta finds herself on the list for the fourth-straight season while Fitz-Randolph is now a two-time honoree.
Rising senior Cassie Chung (Vancouver, British Columbia) and rising junior Elizabeth Kozyi (Alexandria, Va.) earned a spot for the second-straight season while rising sophomores Luciana Rabines (Barcelona, Spain) and Mireille Moreau (Warwick, Quebec) earned the honor after their rookie seasons.
