Summer countdown to the fall semester with Kiwi McDaniel

STORRS, Conn. - The summer for the UConn softball team has led to many of the student-athletes realizing their future career dreams, completing internships, and much more. Down to just 12 days until the start of the fall semester, rising senior Kiwi McDaniel slides into the summer countdown to share her adventure below.

This summer I had an internship with facility operations on campus. During my internship, I've been able to be a part of the set up and break down process for multiple events like the NCAA college basketball academy as well as both of Dan Hurley's basketball camps. Hosting about 600 athletes in the basketball capital of the world, I've first handedly learned how to work under pressure and facilitate camps at such a large scale. Knowing that the campers had a positive experience and the events ran smoothly, is so self rewarding being a part of those working nonstop behind the scenes.
