Four Golfers Named All-America Scholars

NORMAN, Okla. – Four members of the 2019-20 UConn golf team have been honored as Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Recent UConn graduates Drake Hull and Tim Umphrey and rising seniors Finn Boynton and Jack Boulger were part of a group of 194 Division I golfers across the country to receive the honors.
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status, an individual must be a senior, junior or sophomore, who has a stroke average under 76.0 and maintains a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2.
Hull (Rutland, Vt.) was the Huskies' stroke leader for the shortened 2019-20 season, averaging 73.2 per round for 21 rounds. He had one Top 10 and three Top 20 finishes and 10 rounds of par-or-better, including a season-low round of 68.
Umphrey (Northborough, Mass.) averaged 74.4 in 2019-20 for 15 rounds, with one Top 10 and three Top 20 finishes. He had three rounds of par-or-better, including a season-low round of 67.
Boulger (Walpole, Mass.) competed in seven events for the Huskies last season, averaging 75.0 strokes per round for 21 rounds. He had two Top 20 finishes and four rounds of par-or-better, including a season-low round of 69.
Boynton (Milford, Conn.) played in four events in 2019-20, averaging 75.8 strokes per round for 12 rounds. He had two rounds of par-or-better, including two season-low rounds of 72.
