UConn WBB Adds Walk-On Autumn Chassion

STORRS, Conn. – UConn women's basketball head coach Geno Auriemma announced the addition of freshman walk-on guard Autumn Chassion to the 2020-21 roster Saturday.
A native of Lafayette, La., Chassion helped lead Lafayette Christian Academy to four straight Division III state championships. As a senior, she averaged 15 points and 10 assists per game.
"I knew that when I was presented the opportunity to play at one of the most prestigious universities and play under the best coach in women's basketball that it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I knew I had to take it," Chassion said.
A 5-foot-8 guard, Chassion held a 4.0 grade-point average and was her high school's valedictorian.
Chassion joins UConn's second-ranked freshman class, which includes Paige Bueckers, Aaliyah Edwards, Piath Gabriel, Mir McLean and Nika Muhl. Chassion will wear No. 2 at UConn.
Chassion arrived on UConn's campus last week along with the other 10 members of the 2020-21 roster.
