Head Coach Geno Auriemma
On the game:
"Overall, it was a horrendous basketball game- it was very difficult to watch. It was very choppy with no flow, and nothing seemed like it came easy. Our defense did a decent job."
On playing without Paige Bueckers:
"It's difficult to play when you're missing someone who's such an integral part of your offense, and I thought they handled it pretty well."
On Nika Muhl starting:
"She's a very emotional player. As she grows, hopefully she becomes a little more disciplined in her approach and hopefully be someone that will help us going forward."
On Aubrey Griffin:
"She's carving out an important role. We really need to have Aubrey's defensive activity level and her ability to get on the backboard. She's becoming more and more comfortable and feeling better, which will give her a lot of confidence."
On Paige Bueckers' and Anna Makurat's injuries:
"Paige is going to get evaluated again today - she's day-to-day. Hopefully by Tuesday or Wednesday, she'll be ready to go. Anna's injury is something the trainers have been working with for a little while, so there is no set timeline."
On looking forward to Arkansas:
"The game is more guard-oriented now. Arkansas is very guard-oriented, and with three fifth-year seniors, they have more experience. There are more good guards in college basketball than there are great post players. Arkansas might be one of the best guard-oriented teams."
Junior Forward Olivia Nelson-Ododa
On playing without Paige Bueckers:
"Going off of ball movement, I think it was stagnate most of the time. Paige is a great facilitator is it sucks missing a player like that."
On her three-point shooting:
"It's been something I've been trying to improve on. They've been working with me to shoot when Tennessee was sagging off. So today I was open and I shot it."
On today's defense:
"It was messy. I think we had moments when we had good stops and others when we didn't. So going into a big game we need to be better."
Junior Guard Christyn Williams
On playing without Paige Bueckers:
"It was difficult. Paige is the starting point guard and the offense was lagging without her, but I thought Nika did a good job coming off the bench and we had other people handle those rolls."
On being one of the most experienced players on the team:
"My experience is important, I was the most experienced player out there but it is my job to lead them, help them, tell them where to go on the floor. I mean there are 6 freshmen and we need to rely on them."
Sophomore Forward Aubrey Griffin
On the defense:
"I think there were times where I thought the defense was better than the others, and I think at Tennessee we had good energy, it showed today in spurts."
On her role on the team:
"I feel great, I'm going to continue what I'm doing now. Attacking, Playing defense and having an impact all the time."
