Bedoya Named BIG EAST Offensive POTW

STORRS, Conn. – Sophomore Jaydah Bedoya of the UConn women's soccer team was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week Monday after helping the Huskies to a 2-0 week.
Bedoya was crucial in a pair of UConn wins last week, scoring two goals and adding an assist to tie for the BIG EAST weekly lead with five points. The sophomore scored twice in a 3-2 overtime win over Creighton Thursday, including the game-tying goal in the 90th minute. She then assisted on Jada Konte's 106th-minute golden goal against Villanova on Sunday.
Bedoya leads UConn with 13 points off five goals and three assists over 14 games this season.
Sophomore Kaitlyn Mahoney was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll. She went 2-0-0 with an .818 save percentage and 0.86 GAA. Mahoney notched an eight-save shutout vs. Villanova on Sunday.
The Huskies (8-6-0, 4-3-0 BIG EAST) are back in action Thursday at Providence (8-5-2, 3-3-1) at 6 p.m.
