Volleyball Treks to St. John's, Seton Hall

STORRS, Conn. – Needing one more win to clinch a berth in the BIG EAST Championship, the UConn women's volleyball team will embark on a two-game road swing this weekend at St. John's and Seton Hall as it looks to seal its postseason position.
UConn (19-7, 11-3 BIG EAST) will first visit the Red Storm on Friday for a 3 p.m. start before heading to the Pirates for a 6 p.m. match on Saturday.
With one more win, the Huskies would clinch one of the two remaining spots in the BIG EAST Championship. Creighton and Marquette clinched spots last weekend, and the Golden Eagles will host the conference championship, which is schedule to take place Nov. 26-27.
Additionally, with one more win UConn would record its first 20-win season for the first time since the 2008 campaign, and hit the 12-win mark in BIG EAST games for the first time in program history.
Senior Caylee Parker was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week after topping the team in both kills (23) and kills per (3.83) on a .385 hitting percentage. Furthermore, the senior made history as she moved into fifth place on the UConn all-time kills list (1,196).
SCOUTING ST. JOHN'S
St. John's sits at an even 14-14 overall and is 5-9 in conference competition. Rachele Rastelli is the lone player in the BIG EAST to average over four kills per set (4.44) and ranks 19th nationally.
UConn earned a 3-0 sweep in the first matchup this season in Storrs to improve to 16-11 in the all-time series vs. the Red Storm.
SCOUTING SETON HALL
Seton Hall holds a 12-16 mark to go with a 4-10 clip in BIG EAST action. Amanda Rachwal ranks fourth in the conference in blocks per set (1.18) and fifth in hitting percentage (.330).
The Huskies are riding a four-game win streak vs. the Pirates and picked up a 3-0 sweep in the previous matchup this season.
UP NEXT
UConn will close out the regular season at home against Butler (Nov. 18) and Xavier (Nov. 19) for Senior Day.
