Mateo Leveque Awarded BIG EAST Freshman of The Year

STORRS, Conn.- The BIG EAST Conference has announced its major award winners and All-Conference teams Monday morning.

UConn freshman Mateo Leveque captured BIG EAST Freshman of the Year honors and was awarded All Big East Third Team.

As a freshman, Leveque played in all 16 games, starting 14 of them. Leveque led the way for the Huskies with six assists and 12 points. Eight of Leveque's points came in the second half of the season. He scored one goal and added two assists vs. Rutgers on October 27. Leveque also was tied for second on the team in goals scored with three.
