Three Huskies Earn NEWISA Honors

STORRS, Conn. – Three members of the UConn women's soccer team earned spots of the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association All-New England Teams.
Sophomore Jaydah Bedoya was named to the First Team, junior Jessica Mazo was tabbed to the second team and sophomore Kaitlyn Mahoney was selected to the third team.
Bedoya led the Huskies with six goals and 16 points this season. Nine of Bedoya's points came in the second half of the season. She scored two goals vs. Creighton on Oct. 14. Bedoya also tied for the team lead with four assists. She ranked ninth in the conference in points and goals per game this season.
Mazo led UConn's midfield and helped the defense record four shutouts this season. She notched an assist vs. Central Connecticut. Mazo averaged 83 minutes in the 14 games she played in this season.
Mahoney started 17 games in goal this season and held a 1.28 goals-against average and .806 save percentage. She recorded three shutouts this season. Mahoney recorded five or more saves in seven games, including a career-high 11 vs. Butler.
