Six Huskies ALL-BIG EAST, Palacios Co-Goalkeeper of Year

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's soccer team landed six players on the All-BIG EAST Conference teams and Randi Palacios earned BIG EAST Co-Goalkeeper of the Year accolades on Thursday afternoon.
Palacios received Goalkeeper of the Year and First Team All-BIG EAST honors after only allowing five goals in 11 matches. The Vienna, Va. native posted a 0.31 goals against average while securing six shutouts for the Huskies. She tied for most shutouts in the league while ranking third in goals against average and saves (36).
Melina Couzis and Jessica Mazo also captured First Team All-BIG EAST. Couzis led the UConn defense to six shutouts while also chipping in one assist. Mazo tied for the team lead with three assists and added a pair of goals. Her seven points is third on the Husky squad.
The sophomore's three helpers ranked sixth in the league.
Yamilee Eveillard grabbed a spot on the All-BIG EAST second team after leading the Huskies with eight points with her three goals and pair of assists. Eveillard fired the fifth most shots in the conference with 30 on the season.
Lucy Cappadona and Jada Konte garnered All-BIG EAST Freshman team nods. Cappadona is currently second on the team with three goals this season while Konte is tied with Mazo for the team lead with three assists.Â
UConn earned second place in the East Division and will square off against Butler on Friday, April 16 at 5:30 p.m. in the BIG EAST Championship semifinals.
