DALLAS – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association announced its District Players of the Year for all nine districts for the 2021 season. This season's honorees include UConn outfielder Kyler Fedko, who took home District 2 Player of the Year honors.
Fedko becomes the school's third NCBWA District Player of the Year (George Springer (2011) and L.J. Mazzilli (2013)) and helped the Huskies to the Big East regular season and tournament championships. The Gibsonia, Pa. native was honored as the BIG EAST Player of the Year and BIG EAST Championship Most Outstanding Player. He hit a league-leading .398, belted 12 home runs and knocked in a team-best 53 runs as the Huskies played in the South Bend Regional.
Fedko earned Collegiate Baseball Second Team All-America honors last week and is in line to get more hardware as award season continues.
