Hofer Returns to WSOC as Volunteer Assistant

STORRS, Conn. - UConn women's soccer head coach Margaret Rodriguez has announced the return of former UConn goalkeeper Courtney Hofer as a volunteer assistant on the UConn staff in 2021.
"We are extremely excited to welcome Courtney back to our program as a coach! To be in a position to offer an alum this opportunity is important to me and our program," said head coach Margaret Rodriguez. "Courtney's passion for the game and commitment to learn and grow as a coach is evident. I am certain her experiences as a player and coach will be a valuable addition to our staff and we know the players will benefit in more ways than one with her back in our program."Â
Hofer was a 2017 team captain for the Huskies and played 10 games during her time in Storrs. She arrived at UConn after transferring from TCU, a program that she helped leda to the 2016 NCAA Tournament and played 24 games over the course of three seasons.
Since graduating from UConn, Hofer played professionally in Italy for Empoli FC in Tuscany as the team finished second in the table in the 2018-19Â Serie B season.
During the 2019 season Hofer got got her first coaching gig at East Carolina as a volunteer assistant. After spending time with the Pirates, Hofer was hired as an assistant coach at Princeton in 2020. .Â
