Huskies Beat UNH, 4-1, to Close Preseason

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's soccer team defeated New Hampshire, 4-1, in the Huskies' final exhibition of the preseason Saturday evening at Morrone Stadium.
Senior forward Isabelle Lynch scored twice while sophomore forward Jada Konte and sophomore forward Jaydah Bedoya each scored once.
Bedoya started the scoring just over 15 minutes into the game before UNH tied about seven minutes later. Konte scored off a shot from the right side in the 28th minute to give UConn a 2-1 lead.
Lynch notched her first goal of the game just 25 seconds into the second half, collecting a rebound and scoring right in front of the net. She headed in a corner kick from Jacqueline Hart in the 80th minute to put UConn ahead, 4-1.
Sophomore Kaitlyn Mahoney and freshman MaryKate Ward split time in goal.
UConn officially opens the 2021 season next Saturday, Aug. 21, vs. CCSU at 5 p.m. at Morrone Stadium. Single-game tickets are available beginning at $3 for youth and $4 for adults.
