Jill Sikes Added to Women's Volleyball Staff

STORRS, Conn. - UConn women's volleyball head coach Ellen Herman-Kimball has finalized her staff as Jill Sikes has been named the program's latest assistant coach,ย Herman-Kimball announced Friday.
Pending the completion of the university's employee onboarding process, Sikes will arrive to Storrs after a four-year tenure at High Point. While with the Panthers, Sikes played a key role in guiding the program to BIG South Championship titles and NCAA Tournament appearances in 2018 and 2020. Additionally, she served as the recruiting coordinator and was promoted to associate head coach in the summer of 2020.
"I am stoked to be joining the UConn volleyball family and cannot wait to work with the incredible people and student-athletes associated with the program," remarked Sikes.ย "I would like to thank Ellen Herman-Kimball, Ellen Tripp, and David Benedict for entrusting me with this position and for providing an environment that feels like home here at UConn. This program already has the tools for success and I am excited to be a part of the journey.ย Go Huskies!"
Prior to her time at High Point, Sikes served two years as a graduate assistant at Washburn. In her first season as a collegiate coach, she assisted the Ichabods to a 28-6 record, reach as high as No. 13 in the national polls, and coached three AVCA All-Americans.
"I'm excited to complete our staff with the hiring of Jill," said Herman-Kimball. "She is the missing piece to our new staff dynamic and brings a level of experience and hard work that can help contribute to our growing program."
Sikes was a standout as a student-athlete at Hendrix, starting all four years and was a team captain in her final season.ย Sikes drove the Warriors to two NCAA Tournament berths and an appearance in the 2014 Final Four.
Before entering the collegiate ranks, Sikes was the head coach of the Topeka Impact's 18-1's and led the team to the USAV Junior Nationals.
Sikes graduated from Hendrix with a degree in kinesiology and minor in secondary education in 2016. She went on to complete her masters of educationย curriculum and instruction from Washburn in 2017.
