Benjamin Grosse Named BIG EAST Field Athlete of the Week

STORRS, Conn. - Senior Benjamin Grosse (Wayzata, Minn.) was named the BIG EAST Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.
At the Texas Relays, Grosse finished ninth in the decathlon in his first time competing in the event this season. He finished with 7158 total points and was fourth in the javelin (53.88m) and fourth in the 1500 meters (4:34.83). His opening performance has him first in the BIG EAST rankings and ninth nationally.
On the women's side, junior Patricia Mroczkowski (Berlin, Conn.) repeats as top field athlete after setting an outdoor personal best in the high jump, clearing the bar at 1.77 meters at the 94th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays. The height currently lists 16th nationally.Â
